Marketplays Kids Club presents Toddler Time Where is the Green Sheep

Story Time Sessions will begin with a reading of the ever so popular story of “Where is the Green Sheep” by Mem Fox and Judy Horacek. Children will love joining in with this familiar story as it takes them on a wildly wonderful adventure in a rollicking search for the green sheep.

Song & Rhyme Time Following our story time, we will sing a range of songs including Mary Had a Little Lamb, Little Bo Peep, and The Sheep on the Farm before children will be invited to choose one of the many craft, sensory and other Sheep themed activities on offer.

Where is the Green Sheep  related activities will include

The Zinda Festival is a week-long celebration of the multicultural music, food, and art that make Bendigo a great place to live. The term ‘Zinda’ means alive and lively in a number of languages, hence why this name has been chosen for this multicultural festival. The festival also coincides with Cultural Diversity Week. Bendigo Marketplace is proud to be a major sponsor on the 2019 Zinda festival.

As part of the celebrations, we will have a Free Multicultural Craft Workshop on offer to children.

Activities: 
Dragon Spiral Mobiles:
Children can make their very own Chinese Dragon Mobile like Sun Loong or one of the many other Dragons who come out at the Zinda Festival.
Children will have the opportunity to decorate their dragon using a range of colouring materials including crayons, textas, and pencils. A string will be provided for children to stick onto their dragon so it can be hung up and displayed.

Pasta Mandala Collage:
A mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol used by many cultures from Buddhism to Hinduism, Aboriginal to Hopi and even ancient alchemy. Our Mandala Collage station will be set up in the sensory table with an array of coloured pastas of different types for children to use to create their own Mandala collage.

Cultural Diversity Clouring Station:
Many children love to simply colour. Whether they enjoy the therapeutic and calming aspects or the ability to express themselves creatively, this is always a favourite activity for children young an old. There will be some lovely colouring pages available for children to choose from that are focused around Cultural Diversity and celebrating the Bendigo communities array of cultures.

The Animal Antics Activity Zone will have a variety of activities set up for children to choose from with a different craft activity each day. Children can choose to participate in as many of the activities within the session as they like.

Wednesday – Jungle Animal Colour-in window decorations:
We have a cool way for children to show off their artwork – putting it up as a window display! Animal fans will delight in these crafty decorations – each tropical design contains a pre-drawn
jungle scene ready to be given a new lease of life. Creative kids will be thrilled to learn about their favorite jungle creatures through their crafts, adding colour with their choice of pens, pencils or textas until they’re complete. The fun doesn’t stop there though, children will be able to take their coloured in designs home, pop them in the window and watch the effect as light shines through. The perfect craft to colour, create, learn and display!

Monday – Animal Glasses:
These easy and fun Jungle Animal Glasses are sure to provide animal antic fun during the April School Holidays. Our Animal Glasses come in pre-prepared kits which contain all you need to create an awesome pair of animal goggles to amuse and delight! The kits contain a pair of glasses. Pre-cut foam shapes, double sided sticky tape and wiggly eyes. There are 4 animal glasses to choose from including, a tiger, a toucan, an elephant, and a fox.

Visit Bendigo Marketplace Donut King during the April School Holidays and help them turn their store into a jungle!

Children will be invited to colour in a jungle leaf and then stick it on the Donut King store. The team want to see their whole store covered in Jungle leaves by the end of the April School Holidays, Can you help them?
