After marrying two years ago, renovating a house, and having a baby boy, Simone and Paul O’Sullivan decided to become Lenard’s franchise owners in November 2014. Busy, much?
Simone and Paul are certainly locals. Simone grew up in Newbridge and went to school in Bendigo, and Paul was born in Castlemaine and grew up in the Maldon area. Lenard’s Chicken has been a franchise that Paul has always been passionate about, and when it came up for lease at Bendigo Marketplace, it was an opportunity that the pair could not pass by.
Everything at Lenard’s Bendigo Marketplace is made locally, by Paul and the team. The chicken arrives and the team sources the pastries, herbs and spices and get into the kitchen! Paul’s love of food really comes alive at the shop, Simone says.
If something from the Lenard’s Menu is not in stock, Simone says they can usually do a custom order by the following day. And for those trying to avoid gluten in their diet, Lenard’s stocks a range of gluten friendly options for you to try. Find out more just by stopping by and asking about them!
Simone’s top picks at Lenard’s Chicken:
Simone says she’s definitely a chicken breast person. The filo is a healthier version of pastry that Simone recommends, and there are heaps of fillings to choose from, depending on your tastes.
Tender chicken breast in delicious puff pastry, filled with cream cheese and chives.
And something you might not usually go for…
Simone recommends the chicken Sausages and Burgers for something different to a traditional barbeque… They are a little different but really tasty! And there are some extra special varieties including spinach and pinenut chicken sausages, curry Satay, honey rosemary and more!
For the kids:
Being a mother herself, Simone knows there are plenty of good chicken options the little ones will love. In particular, the mini strudels made with Chicken mince with mixed vegetables, wrapped in puff pastry are a BIG favourite.
